Life Hacks
Align your purpose to your core values
Become absolutely clear about who you are and what you want in life and create a solid action plan. Your relevance in the world will be directly linked to your core values.
Become radically self aware
This is one of the biggest problems I see people struggle with. After being on auto pilot for a period of time a lack of self awareness can quickly make you fade into the crowd.
establish a routine
Create a daily schedule that brings structure to your life. This can help maintain a sense of normalcy and keep you focused on your goals. This one of the things I see in all successful veterans.
end on a high note
The last moment when you say goodbye to a civilian is how they will remember and evaluate you. Ensure you leave a positive lasting impression. All of your efforts can be erased if you forget only this one thing.
Non Verbal communication is imperative
95% of communication is non-verbal. Pay attention to your body language, facial expressions, and other non-verbal cues. In civilian relationships people will mirror back what they see.
first impressions are everything
You get about 3 seconds before you will be judged. People who present themselves in a way that is unforgettable from the first point of contact will win.
inspire rather than manipulate
Manipulation and fear are far less effective than inspiring others to action. Focus on positive and motivational ways to influence people. This will differentiate you from your competition in the civilian world.
pace yourself
Move slowly and methodically for best results. This will instantly create an air of respect. Rushing you is a tactic your competition will use and can lead to mistakes and missed opportunities.
speak slowly
Speak slowly to be respected and heard to both in personal and in business affairs. Clear and deliberate communication is key to being understood and being deemed of value.
acknowledge mistakes
Do not fall into the trap of trying to be perfect. People will trust you if you are quick to acknowledge your mistakes. Everyone makes them, and owning up to them builds trust.
build trust
This is going to be the key to achieving any objective. Success in the civilian world is determined by how much your family and the general population trusts you. Make being trustworthy and dependable your priority.
maintain good mental & physical health
Maintain a regular exercise routine and seek mental health support when needed. Taking care of your health is crucial for overall well-being. And do not neglect your spiritual health for optimum results.
celebrate milestones
You will make it a lot further & faster if you remember to celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. This will help you establish rapport with your self & build confidence and provide motivation to continue progressing.
relationship building
Make your relationships a priority. Your success in your personal and business/work life will depend on these. Make it a daily habit to do things that promote bonding with your family and associates.
express gratitude
Take time everyday to message 2 people who have helped you to tell them thank you. You will not make it as far if you do not acknowledge and build relationships with the people who have helped you.
